What is nature to you and how do you connect with it?to you and how do you connect with it?
How we think about nature says a lot about our interactions with our environment. How we feel about nature is even more interesting because it is personal to us alone. How we feel when we are in nature is our own experience and no one else's. Take a moment to imagine you are standing in the middle of a forest, any kind of forest will do. What do the trees look like? What kind of light falls on the plants around you? What does it smell like? Are you there alone or with others? What colours can you see? Keep that image with you!
Now, how would you feel if someone said that you could never go to that forest again? That somehow that forest disappeared. How might that forest have vanished? What do you think might have happened to it? (class discussion)
